Discover the Inspiration Behind Grip

When I was planning Grip - the one thing that struck me was in the majority of office romances - it's always  the male boss and the female secretary. I found that, over the years; not only had that become boring but also very cliche and sexist.

When I created my characters; I also found  how different the dynamics were; with a male boss, he becomes the dominant figure and is quite cold yet also protective. With Grip although she is very much the boss and quite intimidating; there is still a level of vulnerability and a secret desire for support so it was an opportunity to bring in a male PA, someone who was patient, good at his job and who could be her support system as well as her lover. So there was more of an opportunity to add more layers and to not make things quite so straight forward.
